Couples Therapy
Rebuilding connection. Deepening understanding. Creating change together.
Every relationship goes through difficult times. Couples therapy offers a supportive, neutral space where both partners can slow things down, feel heard, and begin to understand what is really happening beneath the surface.
Our work together focuses on helping you and your partner:
• Improve communication
• Break unhelpful patterns
• Rebuild trust and emotional safety
• Strengthen intimacy and connection
• Navigate life transitions and conflict with greater clarity
How Couples Therapy Can Help
In therapy, we explore the emotional patterns, protective strategies and coping styles that each partner brings into the relationship. These patterns often develop for good reasons, but over time they can create distance, misunderstanding and pain.
By gently identifying these patterns together, we can begin to understand their impact, reduce conflict, and create new ways of relating that feel safer, more connected and more satisfying.
A Safe and Supportive Process
Looking inward as a couple can feel vulnerable and confronting at times. My role is to create a calm, respectful and emotionally safe environment where both partners feel supported as difficult conversations unfold.
Merryn works carefully within each person’s window of tolerance, helping you recognise emotional and physical cues of overwhelm, and ensuring that therapy remains constructive, regulated and compassionate.
